Supporting charities to improve people's quality of life and future prospects, both in the UK and internationally

Founded in 2016, the Apollo Foundation is a private Foundation, distributing c. £1million to good causes each year.
Funding Aims and Objectives - 2025-26
We are aware that, with so much grant funding focused on supporting new projects, it can be hard to secure funding for longer-running activity. As a result, ideas and initiatives that have been proven to work can find themselves at risk.
Through our Main Grants Programme we are looking to invest in projects, activities or interventions that have been proven to improve the quality of life and future prospects of those they seek to help.
In particular, we are keen to support projects where our grant will help applicants to:
- Improve their sustainability, enabling their work to continue in both the short and long-term, and/or
- Scale up to reach more people and/or achieve greater impact. For example, this could include helping to roll out projects after a successful pilot phase, or helping projects or initiatives that have been around for a while to scale up and undertake a step change.
Our Grants
The Foundation awards one-off grants between £10,000 and £25,000.
We are happy for our grants to be used to fund capital expenditure (including building and infrastructure costs), project costs, staff salaries, professional fees or revenue costs.
We are happy to be the sole funder, or to contribute towards larger projects. Where our grant is less than the total cost of the project, we are happy to support specific elements, or to support the work ‘holistically’ (i.e. our grant can be used freely across the whole project, rather than tied to a specific part).
Eligibility
We regret that we are only able to support charities registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales. While the charity must be registered in England and Wales, we are happy to support work that takes place anywhere around the world.
We are also not able to accept applications from individual, local or regional branches of the same organisation or movement. Instead, applications should come from the central body.
