Data Protection is a hot topic for fundraisers and charities at the moment, as well as further afield. This notice sets out how Apollo Fundraising collects and uses data.
Data Collection on ApolloFundraising.com
If you spent long enough on the homepage you will have been asked if you would like to add your email address to the Apollo Fundraising mailing list. (Thanks very much if you signed up!). The email address is collected using a widget called SumoMe. Emails are currently sent from me directly, without using a third party provider.
If you have signed up to my mailing list you will receive (infrequent) messages from me, with:
- Workshop dates you might be interested in attending
- Links to blogs I think you might find interesting
Occasionally, we may also ask if you would be happy to take part in surveys, research or bench-marking exercises.
We will never sell your data to other organisations, or share it with any third party without your permission. You are free to unsubscribe, or opt-out, from our mailings at any time. If you would like to opt-out, please contact me at email@example.com.
Like many websites, I also use Google Analytics to try and improve your experience of the website. This software collects information from people visiting the website and uses this data to provide a range of reports. This data includes:
- The route you took to get to ApolloFundraising.com
- The pages you visit on the website
- How long you spend on each page
- The type of device you use to access the website
- Your geographic location
We use this information to identify the content that most visitors are looking for and ensure that it is easy for you to find. In the case of articles and blogs it also means we can focus on writing more of the stuff you like. We also use Google Analytics to assess which external marketing activities have been most successful.

We collect contact data from our clients to enable us to deliver our services. This data is used to send communications relating to:
- Project updates
- Seeking necessary information for delivering the service
- Invoicing and Accounting
- Evaluating our services
Communications, including emails, letters and contracts, are held on electronic and paper files to provide an accurate record as the project progresses and develops.
Following the completion of the project, these documents will be kept indefinitely to enable us to respond to later queries or enquiries. However, data or information we believe to be of a sensitive nature will be deleted after one year.
